CLASSICS AT PRESCOTT

11-12 May 2024

The Annual Classics at Prescott event run by Winchcombe Rotary Club celebrates it's 21st anniversary in Spring 2024 and will again take place at the home of the Bugatti Owners' Club.   This event is organised and operated totally by volunteers and raises money for Rotary supported charities. Over the years it has raised in excess of £360.000 as well as providing a great day out for Classic Car enthusiasts.

About the event

Many thanks to everyone who took part in our 20th Anniversary event. The weather was kind to us which always helps to make the event a great success. We had record spectator numbers and the extra half hour of hill time also meant record entries to climb the hill. The Saturday Tour was oversubscribed and we only just managed to squeeze everyone in to the Royal Oak car park. Our Rotarian Terry Blane who has planned the Tour for the last 5 years was unable to attend as he was unwell. Sadly Terry has since passed away. Those who have taken part in the Tour will miss Terry's welcoming smile at the Tour desk, as will his fellow Rotarians.

Over the 20 years the event has been running we have raised over £360,000 for Rotary supported charities and all the organisation before and on the day is completely carried out by unpaid volunteers.

Entry Rules
The 2024 event will run on similar lines to recent years with a Tour on Saturday and the main event at Prescott on the Sunday. Qualification for any of the activities is unchanged, cars must be aged 25 years or greater. They must be road legal i.e., taxed, appropriately insured and MOT'd. Drivers must hold a full driving licence. Exceptions will be made to the age rule for interesting younger vehicles at the organisers discretion.

Applications from Classic Car Clubs are also very welcome
We continue to be focused on providing a great day out for Classic Car enthusiasts whilst raising funds for a wide variety of Rotary Charities and your support over the years is much appreciated.

Saturday 11th May Classic Cotswold Tour

On Saturday 11th May we will plan a picturesque tour around the Cotswolds. The tour is open to individual classic cars or groups. The tour starts at the Royal Oak in Gretton and takes a circular route returning to Winchcombe. Distance is about 80 miles and the tour guide provided will make suggestions about suitable stop off points along the way. This creates the opportunities to pause at a number of interesting beauty spots and take on some refreshment.

Sunday 12th May Classics at Prescott

The main event takes place on Sunday when from 10am the paddock entries will start their hill runs. When not on the hill these lovely classic cars will be parked in the paddock and can be viewed at close quarters. At the same time there will be a static display of classic cars in the orchard and at lunchtime a gentle cavalcade will go up the hill so everyone can admire the Orchard cars in motion.
